ASABA – The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) says it is working in earnest to secure a better future for the teeming population of Nigerian youths.
The party’s National Chairman, Alhaji Adamu Muazu, made the statement on Wednesday in Asaba when he commissioned the new state PDP secretariat.
He said the party was committed to the transformation of the nation.
“The PDP, as a united party, is working hard to endure we secure a better future for the youth of this nation.
“We are committed to actualising the transformation agenda of our President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, for the overall development of our great nation, Nigeria,” Muazu said.
The PDP chairman lauded Gov. Emmanuel Uduaghan and the leadership of the party in Delta for the achievements recorded in manpower and infrastructure development of the state.
He also commended the PDP in the state for building the new secretariat, which he described as a “magnificent edifice”.
“This accomplishment is a manifestation of your unalloyed support and dedication to our common objective to build a great and united party,” Muazu said.
He said Delta was a great and major partner of the PDP in the party’s quest to deliver dividends of democracy to the people of the nation.
According to Muazu: “I am sure you all know that Delta state is PDP and PDP is Delta. The two are inseparable partners, working for the good of the nation. [eap_ad_2] “I believe by the special grace of God, the PDP will win the forthcoming local government elections in Delta by 100 per cent.”
Earlier, the state chairman, Chief Peter Nwaoboshi had extolled the leadership qualities of Muazu, whom he described as a detribalised leader.
He said: “We welcome you, our national chairman to Asaba, to commission our new party secretariat and also to hand over party flags to our candidates for the forthcoming local government elections.
“Through your effort, our great party has remained formidable and united. Our opposition parties are now in disarray.”
Nwaoboshi said the party built the secretariat with the support of Gov. Emmanuel Uduaghan, whom he described as a great leader of the party in the state.
In his welcome address, Gov. Uduaghan assured the national chairman of the state government’s support in the actualisation of the transformation agenda of President Goodluck Jonathan.
He said the party in the state was fully committed to the objectives of the PDP in building a great and united Nigeria.
“The PDP in Delta is a very strong force. We are committed and ever supportive of our great party to achieve success come 2015.
“We are waxing stronger and I will like to assure you of our support and loyalty as you continue to lead our great party for the good of the nation.
High points of the event included the official cutting of tape to commission the new secretariat by Muazu.
The PDP chairman also performed the symbolic handing over of party flags to its 25 candidates for the forthcoming local government elections in Delta slated for Oct. 25.(NAN) [eap_ad_3]
