PENGASSAN Seeks End To Crisis In Oil And Gas Coy

Lagos –   Neconde Energy Limited, under the aegis of Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN), have called for an end to industrial dispute in the company.

The Branch Chairman, Mr Wealth Onyeanya made the call while fielding questions from journalists in Lagos on Tuesday.

“The workers are not pleased with the forceful restructuring, alignment, harmonisation of Structure/ Condition of service; policies of NECONDE across other non-subsidiaries of the Obijackson Group.

“This is not a registered legal entity. There is also the issue of unprocedural and forceful transfer of Staff from Lagos to Warri.

“Obijackson Group, a parent body should settle workers benefits to end the crisis in the company,’’ he said.

He said that the workers have been having issues with its management since October 2016 over non-payment of salaries among others and various efforts made to dialogue had failed.

Onyeanya explained further that employees had worked zealously since the shutdown of Trans- Forcados export line to ensure continuous cash inflow through alternative crude evacuation.

He listed the grievances of the workers against the company to include violation of the communiqué signed with its employers between Feb. 21 and Feb. 23.

The branch chairman said that the workers have not been paid their total severance Benefits and outstanding field allowance of staff from August 2016 till date.

He said that as a result of the issue, on April 13, three staff member exited the Company.

He said that others, who are unwilling to go on with the restructuring and transfer, are on extended leave and have volunteered to opt for severance.
