Abuja – Mr Nebeolisa Anako, Permanent Secretary in the Police Service Commission (PSC), says Nigerian Engineers must embrace self development to meet up with the challenges of the profession.
The Head of Press and Public Relations in the commission, Mr Ikechukwu Ani, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday in Abuja.
He said the permanent secretary spoke during a courtesy visit by executive members of the Abuja branch of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE).
Anako said the emergence of more professionals into leadership positions in the country had continued to improve and stabilise government activities at the federal level.
He urged the engineers to continuously embark on self development and be ready to work with government in technical and administrative areas.
The permanent secretary pledged his commitment to the improvement of the fortunes of the commission.
He commended the delegation for the visit, adding that the commission was prepared to tap from the wealth of professional expertise of the engineers.
In his remarks, Chief Chinasaokwu Okolie, Chairman of Abuja branch of NSE, said the visit was to express their professional solidarity with the permanent secretary over his appointment.
According to him, the visit is to felicitate with one of our own who has climbed to the apex in the public service.
“It is not easy for professionals, especially engineers to rise to the position of Permanent Secretary,” he said.
