ABUJA – Labour Party (LP) candidate in the forthcoming 2023 presidential election, Peter Obi has congratulated Nigerian-born Miracle Izuchukwu for excelling and achieving a noble feat in her career.

The beautiful 25-year-old, who joined the aviation industry in 2019 as a flight attendant with American Airlines, is currently the youngest female commercial pilot in the United States of America.

Miracle Izuchukwu traced her desire to become a pilot to her first encounter with a male pilot who encouraged her to follow her dreams while she was working as a customer service representative.

She narrated, “I came home that day, called my father, and told him I was considering becoming a Professional Pilot”. She further narrated her father’s remarks thus, “if I get on a plane and see a woman as the Pilot, I would get off the plane”.

According to Miracle, words could not explain the pain and confusion she felt because she needed validation from her father; despite the disappointment, however, she was resolute.

In an Instagram post, she spoke about her dream to join the elite group of 7 per cent of females and 1 per cent of black female pilots in the world and how pleased she is to finally achieve the feat.

“It’s an exhilarating, yet surreal feeling to introduce myself to the world as a Pilot”, Miracle wrote.

Reacting to her record-breaking feat, via his Twitter handle, Peter Obi congratulated her, saying she made history and also made Nigeria proud.

“My very warm congratulations to Miracle Izuchukwu, 25. She’s Nigerian, and the youngest commercial female pilot in the USA.

“Like her compatriots all over the world, she made her country proud while making history”, The former Anambra State governor tweeted.
