PORT HARCOURT (Sundiata Post) – Port Harcourt City Local Government Area, PHALGA has played host to Dr. Dakuku Peterside, governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress APC, in Rivers State. The APC candidate who spent over 15 years of his adult life in that local government received a thunderous welcome as he recalled the good old days, promising to re-enact and even better the record of the past.
Peterside who was accompanied by candidates of the state and National Assembly supporters, former neighbours and friends made stopovers at Six Field Mini Stadium, Elekahia Community Town Hall, Rumuwoji Play Ground and Nkpolu Oroworokwo Community, among other place.
He called on his supporters to rise and stand behind only candidates who are competent, God-fearing and without a violent past. He assured the people of his determination to build a virile state that will cater for both the strong and weak, boy and girl, man and woman.
“This election is about you and your future. You know that some people will send their children to the best of schools abroad and arm your own children to go and fight for them. They will tell you lies; they will not even tell you what they will do for you. They will keep urging you to fight for them. Please reject them.
“I urge you to follow APC because your matter will be my matter. I am aware that many of our boys and girls do not have jobs. As a parent, I know the pain of supporting adult children who can’t leave home because they don’t have jobs. Let me assure you that we will support any of our children in whatever thing they choose to do. We shall also support traders and small businesses.
Urban renewal of Old Port Harcourt Township to turn it to a World Class modern city that will truly earn the sobriquet “Garden City” is also a priority for our government.
“Because I grew up here, I know the problems here. I will provide security and encourage talented people in arts and entertainment. My government, in addition to these, will still provide opportunities for anyone who wants to go to school through our special scholarship schemes. Let me assure you again that my government is your government”.

Peterside urged the people to make sure they convert more supporters for APC by doubling their efforts on the field. He praised door to door campaigners and pleaded with them sustain the current tempo.
The rallies also featured goodwill messages from government officials like Hon. Worgu Boms, Attorney-General and Commissioner of Justice, Rivers State; ward chairmen, community and religious leaders and supporters who pledged to continue to support Peterside.
