Enugu – Vehicular movement on Friday resumed in full swing within major roads in Enugu metropolis as petrol prices continued to nosedive, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.
NAN reports that most of the petrol stations in the metropolis have the product.
The NNPC and major petroleum marketers still sell petrol between N86 and N86.50 per litre respectively and with lesser queues.
The product is currently sold between N170 and N140 per litre, against N200 and N180 a week ago in many filling stations owned by independent petroleum marketers without queues.
Mr James Edeh, the Manager of Timmerpet Filling Station, Agbani road, said that many IPMAN members were trying to sell their old stocks at exorbitant price.
“With the continuous drop in price, within a week or more, it is likely the price would drop to the official price in all IPMAN members’ filling stations in Enugu.
“However, most IPMAN filling stations were trying to sell their old stock bought at exorbitant price,’’ Edeh said.
Mr Peter Igeh, official of DPR, said the department would continue to monitor the product to ensure that the price dropped to official price set by government.(NAN)
