ADO-EKITI – The Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN), Ekiti State chapter, on Wednesday pledged to support the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency(NDLEA) in educating people against usage of illicit drugs.Mr Onibon Olabode, chairman of PSN in Ekiti, made the pledge in Ado-Ekiti, when members of the association paid a visit to the state commander of NDLEA, Mr Suleiman Jadi.
According to him, the association has been saddled with the responsibility of educating people on how to use and administer drugs, to promote good health.
Olabode said the body would assist the agency in providing useful information on how to arrest quack pharmacists and drug peddlers, who indulged in activities that tarnished the image of the association.
He said that officers of the agency would be invited regularly for lectures on ways to identify drugs that were harmful to human health.
In his response, Jadi, said that agency was excited with the initiative of the association and thanked them for the visit.
He said the agency would partner with the PSN to educate people against taking Indian hemp and other illicit drugs.
Jadi tasked members of the association to help in curbing the distribution of illicit drugs. (NAN)
