JALINGO – The association of Physically Challenged Persons in Taraba, will support Chief David Kente, the Social Democratic Party (SDP) governorship candidate in the state, its chairman, Mr Saka Sakiru, has promised.
Sakiru made the promise on Saturday in Jalingo when he led some members of the association on a [pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]courtesy call on Kente.
He said that Kente, through the auspices of his DSK foundation, had provided members of the association with wheel chairs.
He added that the foundation had also awarded scholarships to members of the association to improve [pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]their education.
Sikiru said: “We have resolved to embark on door-to-door campaign to ensure that Kente becomes the next governor of the state, because one good turn deserves another.
“Kente has also donated several wheel chairs to our members and provided scholarships to others

to[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″] improve their education.’’
In his response, Kente said that if he wins the election, he would inaugurate committees to protect, empower and provide opportunities for the less privileged get to be educated.
He promised to liaise with the legislature to initiate social security legislation to address the challenges facing the aged, the disabled and other socially disadvantaged groups in the society.
