Abuja (Sundiata Post) – The Labour Party Chairman in Plateau State, Comrade Solomon Ndam has said members of the State chapter of the Party are solidly behind Alh. Lamidi Apapa as the only recognised National Party Chairman of the Party.

Ndam said the Plateau Labour Party will not recognise the Appeal Court judgement in Edo State recognising Barr. Julious Abure as the National Chairman of the Party.

He said his Party members in the State are still holding firmly to the High Court Judgement in Abuja which restrained Abure from parading himself as National Chairman.

Ndam who spoke to our correspondent on Thursday said he will only work with Mr. Apapa, pledging loyalty of the entire Plateau State exco and members to the leadership of the embattled Apapa.

According to him: “The entire Labour Party family on the Plateau is behind Alh.Lamidi Apapa.

“Any judgement removing him as National Chairman is not recognised by us in Plateau”, he said.

Ndam also called on those preparing to join the party not to be distracted by the latest Appeal Court judgement in Edo, assuring prospective members that the party is open to all.

“We are ready to receive new members into the Party in the coming days”, he said.

In another twist, the Plateau Labour Party Chairman called on the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), led government in the State, to ensure it works to fulfill its promises made to the people during electioneering.

Ndam reminded Governor Mutfwang to pay outstanding salaries of civil servants saying that as former Governor Lalong did the same on assumption of office in 2015 when he inherited an outstanding salary of almost a year.

He said the above decision was reached at an extraordinary meeting of the Labour Party State Working Committee.
