JOS – The Labour Party (LP) gubernatorial candidate in Plateau, Mr Bagudu Hirse has pledged his support for the President-elect, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressive Congress (APC).
Hirse threw his support behind the president-elect at a press conference in Jos on Tuesday.
He said that it was his responsibility to support the president-elect by aligning with his political party.
“Gen. Buhari is an apostle of change and I believe his government will respect the rule of law and ensure accountability in utilisation of the nation’s resources.
“It is a bad thing for a politician to see the strong wind of change blowing across the country and go against it.
“ The era of suffering is over, we need change in Nigeria and change in Plateau, “he said.
Hirse described the electorate as the heroes of every election, due to the key role they play especially in the just concluded presidential election.
He therefore urged them to “repeat and sustain” the good conduct exhibited during the presidential poll, by voting wisely on April 11 for the governor of the state and lawmakers.
The LP candidate also applauded President Goodluck Jonathan for his sportsmanship in accepting defeat to keep Nigeria one.
