Jos – The NYSC Cultural and Tourism Community Development Service Group in Plateau emerged first for the second consecutive time in dance and drama at the just concluded NYSC sports and cultural festival.
The NYSC Coordinator in Plateau, MS Caroline Embu, disclosed this while receiving the dance and drama contingents with the Trophy in Jos on Monday.
Embu commended the group for representing the state well and for bringing back the trophy for the second consecutive time.
She said the NYSC sports and cultural festival was instituted to promote the scheme’s core values which were national integration, propagation of unity and creating spirit of sportsmanship.
She urged the group members to put to use the experience of sportsmanship they had gained during the festival throughout their life.
The head of the group, Ms Dnacelo Byanyiko, commended the state coordinator for her relentless support to the outfit and assured that the group would continue to bring more laurels to the state.
News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the NYSC Plateau, asides emerging the overall first in Dance and Drama, it also produced the overall best female dancer; overall best male in the 100 meters race and overall best female in the 200 meters relay race.
