Plateau PDP Distributes Relief Materials To Victims Of Attacks, Flood

Jos – The Plateau chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Thursday, distributed relief materials to  some victims of attacks and flood in northern zone of the state.The party also donated relief materials to orphans and inmates.PDP State Chairman, Mr Chris Hassan, said that the gesture was to cushion pains of those that were affected by different forms of attacks and flood as well as those orphaned or incacerated.Hassan said that the philosophy of the party is to empathise and sympathise with the people in any condition.The chairman said that as the name of the party implies, “PDP cares for the welfare of the people and would continue to touch the lives of the people in whatever situation the find themselves.“It is our prayer that God almighty will bring to an end this sad happenings that have claimed the lives of  many Nigerians.“Apart victims of attacks and flood, we’ve been to ophanages and homeless children’s homes to show concern to our people”.Some of the items distributed included bags of garri, sugar, rice, cartons of indomie, salt, seasoning and kegs of vegetable oil, among others.The paramount ruler of Irigwe land, Rev. Ronku Aka, appreciated the party for its kind gesture.“As elections are approaching, our doors are open for everybody to come and campaign but we are telling our people to be very careful who they elect.“We will put our heads together to see that Nigeria is in peace because we have been suffering.“We want somebody who will lead us with love, sympathy and protection.“God will help us to get such persons to keep on moving together as a nation, this our hope.“What you have brought for my people is not the quantity that matters but the motive behind it,” he said.Community leader of Gangere, a community ravaged by flood,  Malam Ali Sa’at, thanked PDP for coming to their aid.Sa’at urged other political parties to emulate PDP, stating that the victims were going through tough times.Another community leader, Ibrahim Pam, Rikkos, Jos Jarawa Ward, also lauded PDP’s kind gesture towards the people who suffered different degrees of losses as result of flood.Mrs Helen Itse of Aisha Nana Orphanage Home expressed gratitude to the party for the wonderful support and love that shown the home.Itse urged PDP to extend the love to other people in need.The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the party also visited Ola Orphange Home Zawan and the Nigerian Correctional Centre Jos.
