The governorship candidate of the PDP in Plateau, Mr Caleb Mutfwang has suspended all campaign activities due to an accident that claimed the lives of 7 of his supporters.
Abraham Yiljap, Director, Directorate of Media and Publicity to the Atiku-MutfwangCampaign Council, Plateau , said this in a statement in Jos on Sunday.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that seven supporters of the PDP in Plateau, lost their lives while 32 sustained various degrees of injuries in a road accident on Friday, while returning from the party’s zonal campaign flag – off held at Pankshin.
The truck they were in crashed on a slope between Pushit and the Panyam bridge in Mangu Local Government Area of the state.
Yiljap said that in demonstration of grief and as a mark of honour to the party members, the governorship has suspended all campaign activities with immediate effect.
He said the guber candidate had also asked that intense prayers be offered for divine comfort for families and individuals who were bereaved and healing of the injured.
He said the death will ever remain fresh in the memories of party members and admirers as they were being lifted up as heroes of democracy.
