The commissioner told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on the Sunday in Jos that deputy directors would also receive training in the use of ICT.
Piwuna said the training was to give the lawmakers and the directors the requisite knowledge to make them ICT-compliant.
She added that the training became necessary as governments all over the world were shifting from the old way of governance to the modern way known as e-governance.
e-governance was already a global phenomenon as many countries were operating it because of its numerous and obvious advantages, she noted.
She said the advantages of e-governance are many “because it helps in transparency, improves productivity and efficiency.
“During the training, participants will be taken through the various ways and processes to help improve efficiency in our ministries and parastatal agencies.’’
The commissioner, who said it was not the first time that such training would be held in the state, noted that members of the state executive council had already been trained.
“The first batch of such training was for permanent secretaries and special advisers; the second batch was for commissioners and chief executives of the parastatal agencies.
“The next phase, which will commence soon, will be for Plateau House of Assembly members, directors and deputy directors.
“The training, which will be carried out in conjunction with the Directorate of ICT, University of Jos, will take place in the university’s premises,’’ she said. (NAN)
