Sango-Ota (Ogun) – The police on Wednesday arraigned a 51-year-old man, Peter Oladeji, in an Ota Magistrates’ Court, Ogun, for allegedly defrauding one Babaji Olabode of N105,000.
Oladeji, who resides at No. 13 Ola-Oni St., Ota, is being tried on a one -count charge of defrauding one Babaji Olabode
The prosecutor, Mr Ebibomino Itaita, told the court that the accused committed the offence sometime in November 2014, at about 3.30 p.m. at Adelemo area of Sango-Ota.
Itaita said the accused collected N105,000 from the complainant and used his motor vehicle particulars as collateral, but refused to paid back the money.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”70560″]
He said that the offence contravened Section 419 of the Criminal Code Vol.1 Revised Laws of Ogun State, 2006.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the offence.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Funke Odubanjo, granted bail to the accused in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum.
Odubanjo adjourned the case till Aug. 5 for hearing. (NAN)
