Police arrest 13 suspects over electoral offences in Edo



BENIN – The Police in Edo it said had arrested 13 persons for snatching ballot boxes and other electoral offences during State House of Assembly elections held on April 11.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that eight suspects were arrested during the March 28 Presidential and National Assembly elections in the state for the same offences.

Police Public Relations Officer in the State, Joseph Edoigiawerie, DSP, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Benin on Tuesday that the suspects were arrested at different locations in the state.

He said 10 of the suspects were arrested in Auchi while three were nabbed in Iguobazuwa, Ovia South-West Local Government Area.

Edoigiawerie said the suspects would be charged to court after thorough investigations into the matter. (NAN)
