ABEOKUTA (SUNDIATA POST)- The Police Command in Ogun has arrested three suspects for unlawfully being in possession of human parts.

The suspects are Sunday Akintobi, 36, Oladimeji Olaniran, 40, and Isaiah Tijani, 38.
The command’s Spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, disclosed this in a statement issued in Abeokuta on Friday.
Odutola noted that the suspect were arrested on April 22 at about 8 p:m. by operatives of the Police Command in Ogun State through its SWAT unit that acted on credible intelligence.
She said Akintobi was arrested in his residence at Itoku area, Abeokuta where he was accused of trading human body parts, while further investigation led to the arrest of Olaniran and Tijani.
She said while police searched the suspects’ residence, they recovered body parts, believed to be human remains, including cerebral bones.
She added the cerebral bones  were  found in a location disguised as a Cherubim and Seraphim Church in Kobape town on Abiola Way in Abeokuta.
In a related development, the Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, has directed the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) to conduct discreet investigation into the case to establish full involvement of the suspects in the heinous crime.
“As a friendly force, the Police Command in Ogun State urges the public to refrain from shielding criminal elements and to provide timely and credible information to security agencies.
“Such cooperation is crucial in curbing ritual killings and other crimes in the state,” she said.(NAN)
