GOMBE – The Police Command in Gombe on Tuesday said that it arrested 30 suspected criminals for various offences in that state.
The command’s spokesman, DSP Fwaje Atajiri, made this known when he briefed newsmen on the crime situation in Gombe.
Atajiri said 26 suspects were arrested for allegedly terrorising residents of Gombe in the night and forcefully collecting money and valuables from them.
He said the suspects were arrested in obscure places in Je ka Da Fari, Kagarawal, Malam Inna, Libya and other areas of the state capital.
The spokesman said the suspects, who were arrested by the police on patrol, specialised in dispossessing people of their money and valuables.
He said that six suspects were arrested with fake naira notes at Sabon Layi Area of the state, while another suspect was arrested with a Dane gun in Kumo town of Akko Local Government Area of the state.
Atajiri advised the people to be cautious in their transactions, and warned miscreants to steer clear of the state. (NAN)
