The Commissioner of Police in Delta State, Mr Ikechukwu Aduba, disclosed this during a press briefing in Asaba.
“Six suspected members of a gang that murdered one Prosper Erhinyojare and Godwin Migaga have been arrested.
“Live ammunitions and arms recovered from the gang include an AK 47 riffle, 90 rounds of 7.62mm and two locally-made short guns.”
He said that the arrested gang members reportedly committed the crime on April 17 and April 22.
He said that those arrested include Eric Umukoro, Akpojotor Christian, Johnson Ogheneovo, Solomon Olo and Miss Oke Onoriode, while the remaining four members were at large.
Aduba said that the police investigations revealed that the suspects killed the two men in order to instill fear into members of the community.
He noted that the gang did that in order to stop any other person from giving the police information as the two men were doing.
The police chief, however, encouraged members of the public to always give the police vital information to help with effective policing.
He promised that the police were doing everything possible to arrest the fleeing gang members. (NAN)
