Enugu – The Police Command in Enugu State has concluded arrangements to reward its officers and men for exemplary performance during Zonal and National Police Games in order to set pace in sports development.
The Command’s Spokesman, Mr Ebere Amaraizu, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Enugu on Saturday that the move was also part of modalities to further boost the morale of sports men and women in the command.
Amaraizu said that the Command would host and reward the athletes on Aug. 4 at the Senior Police Officers Mess in Enugu.
He added that “the Enugu State Commissioner of Police, Mr Emmanuel Ojukwu, has concluded arrangements with a view to
hosting and rewarding athletes who made the command proud at the zonal and national levels of sports.
“This is part of the grand plan of the command to set the pace in sports development, as well as ensure fitness of our officers and men.
“The event will be attended by relevant stakeholders in the field of sports as well as sports journalists.”
The spokesman said that the commissioner strongly believed that the reward would further encourage sports growth and development in the command,
as well as make its officers and men to be agile and combat-ready.
NAN recalls that sports contingents from the command wrote names of the command in gold in the Zonal 9 Police Games and the National Police Games held at the National Stadium in Abuja. (NAN)
