Maiduguri – The Police in Borno on Sunday donated relief materials to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Maiduguri.
Mr Aminci Baraya, Commissioner of Police in the State, presented the items to the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) at a ceremony at the Teachers Village camp in Maiduguri.
Baraya said the aim was to provide succour to the IDPs who had lost all their belongings to the Boko Haram insurgents.
He gave assurance that his command would support other security agencies to end the Boko Haram insurgency in a very short while to enable the IDPs to return home.

Items donated included rice, maize noodles, biscuits, milk, cooking oil. among others
Ahmed Satomi, the Executive Chairman of SEMA, represented by Malam Yusuf Garba, an official of the agency thanked the police for the gesture.
The agency promised judicious use of the items for the purpose intended. (NAN)
