Abuja, May 23, 2015 (NAN) The special squad deployed to Ekiti by the Inspector-General of Police, Mr Solomon Arase, on Saturday morning successfully rescued ten kidnapped persons in the state.
A statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, Mr Emmanue Ojukwu, said the victims were being debriefed and given medical attention.
The statement said some of the kidnappers had been arrested, while operation was ongoing.
It stressed that the police remained responsive and would continue to apply proactive measures to issues of crime nationwide.

It will be recalled that the I-G, had earlier in this week, dispatched a crack team of operatives to the state to stem the spate of kidnappings in the area. (NAN)
