LAGOS – The Lagos State Police Command on Tuesday assured travellers of maximum security at motor parks and on motorways, as many Lagos residents travel for Christmas and New Year celebrations.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Mr Kenneth Nwosu, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on telephone that security operatives would continue to patrol motorways and motor parks.
“Our operatives are on ground to patrol the highways and monitor activities at motor parks to ensure safety of travellers this Yuletide.
“This is parts of our operational orders for the `ember’ period and Christmas in particular.
“It has commenced since and will be a continuous throughout this period.
“We assure Lagosians of a hitch-free Christmas celebration; our command is not resting on its oars to ensure this,’’ he said.
Nwosu advised residents of the state to call the attention of the police to unusual happenings in their environments.
According to him, it is when the people cooperate with the police that they will be able to serve the public better. (NAN)
