ASABA – The Police in Delta on Tuesday in Asaba brought out 21 crime suspects they arrested for newsmen to see.
The newsmen were also shown arms and ammunitions recovered from the suspects in various parts of the state.
The Commissioner of Police in the State, Mr Alkali Usman, said the police got assistance from the members of the public to make the arrest possible.
“Today, we want to showcase some of our achievements in our strides in combating crime in the last four weeks.
“I thank the people of the state and vigilance groups who have been collaborating with the police in the fight against all forms of criminalities’’, he said.
The commissioner assured the people of the state that the police would re-double efforts toward ensuring the safety of lives and property.
He appealed to the public to continue to report suspicious characters in their neighbourhoods.
According to the commissioner, eight crime suspects were killed in gun battles with the police and six stolen vehicles recovered in the period under review.

Usman also said 10 locally-made guns, four automatic pump-action guns and 31 cartridges were recovered from suspects in various parts of the state. (NAN)
