Abuja – The Nigeria Police Force has warned striking Kogi workers against blocking highways leading in and out of the state.
This is contained in a statement issued by the Force spokesperson, Acting Assistant Commissioner of Police, ACP Olabisi Kolawole on Tuesday in Abuja.
“Information available to the Nigeria Police indicates that workers’ leaders in Kogi are planning to block highways leading in and out of Kogi to advance their labour disputes with the state government,“it said.
The statement also said that extending the protest to blocking highways would cause major traffic and security threats.
It further warned the workers to desist from such inciting and provocative plans but to follow legal and labour procedures.
