Reports are emerging of widespread looting in several local government offices across Rivers State, as thugs believed to be supporters of former Governor Nyesom Wike protest the recent local government elections.
These groups, rejecting the results, are angry over the swearing-in of council chairmen by Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

Supporters of Wike claim the elections were flawed and have refused to recognize the newly elected chairmen.
