Lagos – Mr Ahmed Oseni, the African Democratic Party (ADP) candidate in the Lagos House of Assembly election has urged the Muslim faithful to embrace peace among neighbours beyond the Sallah festive period.
Oseni, who spoke to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Lagos on the ongoing Sallah celebration, said that peace should be the foundation for human coexistence.
Oseni, who contested the Oshodi/Isolo House of Assembly seat, said Nigerians should embrace peace irrespective of religion.
“Peace leadd to harmony and unity among people of different race and culture,” he told NAN.
The politician said that the fun of the festive period was the get together among loved ones indicating that Sallah celebration was for everyone.
He said that the essence of the Sallah celebration was to make merry among individuals and giving of alms to some persons who did not have food to eat in their respective homes.
Oseni also said that in whatever capacity that one could help his or her fellow human beings, he or she should help and bear in mind that God is the ultimate benefactor.
