Polytechnic lecturer slumps, dies in Kwara


A lecturer in the Department of Mass Communication of the Federal Polytechnic, Offa, Kwara State, has reportedly slumped and died.

The lecturer identified as Ayatu Momoh was said to have died while attending a monthly meeting with members of his local community in the town.

The deceased was the secretary of the Igala local community of Kogi State in Offa.

There was no official confirmation of the death of the lecturer yet but a lecturer in the department confirmed the incident.

The lecturer, who did not want his name in print, lamented: “We learnt he slumped and died while attending his Igala community meeting in Offa on Sunday. He is the Secretary of the local community in Offa.”

He described the late lecturer as a hard-working and diligent personality.

He said that the body of late Ayatu had been deposited at the morgue of General Hospital, Offa where post mortem examination would be conducted.
