Abuja, – A 23-year-old Point Of Sale (POS) operator, Chiamaka Onyema was on Wednesday docked in a Karu Upper Area Court, Abuja for allegedly misappropriating N168,000.The police charged Onyema, who resides in Nyanya, Abuja is charged with criminal misappropriation.She pleaded not guilty.The Prosecution Counsel, Olarewaju Osho told the court that the complainant, Mercy Okeke of Nyanya market, reported the matter at the Nyanya Police Station on Nov. 17.“The complainant alleged that she engaged the services of the defendant as a POS attendant in her shop and entrusted N400,000 to her care.However, he said, on Nov. 14, the complainant said she uncovered that the defendant could not account for N168,000.The offence, she said, contravened the provisions of Section 309 of the Penal Code.The judge, Ishaq Hassan, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N200,000 and one surety in like sum.Hassan adjourned the case until Jan. 24 for hearing (NAN)
