ABUJA (SUNDIATA POST)- Mrs Elizabeth Egbetokun, wife of Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun, and President of Police Officers Wives Association (POWA), has called on FCT members to remain united.
Egbetokun made the call at the FCT POWA secretariat inauguration in Abuja on Tuesday.
She emphasised unity as the association’s strength.
“As we move forward, let us remember that our unity is our greatest asset. Let us celebrate our diversity, encourage one another, and work together to bring about meaningful change.
“We invite each of you to share your ideas, energy, and passion to make this secretariat a lasting legacy for future generations,” she said.
Egbetokun described the secretariat as a symbol of unity, resilience, and commitment to the community.
“Today, we are not just inaugurating a building; we are opening a beacon of hope and empowerment.
“This secretariat embodies the spirit of solidarity among families who serve and protect our nation under challenging circumstances.
“The secretariat aims to uplift and empower women, providing a sanctuary for skill enhancement, storytelling, and mutual support through workshops, training, and outreach programmes.
“Our focus is to equip women with resources to support their husbands and thrive in their own right,” she added.
Mrs Chineye Igweh, Chairperson of FCT POWA and wife of Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 7, commended Egbetokun for her role in completing the secretariat project.
Igweh described the secretariat as a new chapter for improved service delivery, efficiency, and accessibility for FCT members. (NAN)
