ABUJA – Condolences have been pouring in to the FCT Minister, Senator Bala Mohammed over the death of his mother, Hajiya Aisha Jummare Mohammed who died on Wednesday in Bauchi, the Bauchi State capital. She passed on at the age of 80 and has been buried since according to Islamic rites. The third day prayer holds today for the late Hajiya Aisha Jummare who has been eulogized as an epitome of motherhood.
Minister of State for Power, Hon. Mohammed Wakil who was one of the early callers at the Life Camp Gwarinpa District residence of the FCT Minister described the late Hajiya Aisha Jummare Mohammed as a quintessential African mother who brought up her children in the way of Allah. He said that Nigeria would remain grateful to the late matriarch of the Mohammed family for bearing a great leader in the person of the FCT Minister, Senator Bala Mohammed.
Also present at the Minister’s residence was a former Minister of FCT, Dr. Aliyu Moddibbo Umar. The former minister urged the FCT Minister to take solace in the fact that his late mother lived an accomplished life. She described her as a role model who brought up her children in the way of Allah.
The Permanent Secretary of FCT, Engr. John Chukwu while consoling the Minister, praised the late matriarch as an epitome of true motherhood. “She lived a life of contentment worthy of emulation. From a vintage position, she contributed her quota to the betterment and upliftment of our society.” The Permanent Secretary wished her a peaceful rest.
Hon. Sani Abdu, a member of House of Representatives from Bauchi state described the late Hajiya Aisha Jummare Mohammed as a great woman and ideal mother stressing that she was a devout Muslim. “She was caring and kind. May her soul rest in peace.”
The late Hajiya Aisha Jummare Mohammed was born in 1934 in Alkaleri, the Headquarters of Alkaleri Local Government of Bauchi State. She is survived by four children namely Senator Bala Mohammed, the FCT Minister; Alhaji Adamu Mohammed, Hauwa Maijida, and Asmau Mohammed.
Upon receiving the news of the demise of his beloved mother, the Minister left immediately for Bauchi with his family members.
