Presidency denies giving N2billion monthly for feeding surrendered Boko Haram detainees

Abuja (Sundiata Post) – Presidency has reacted to the message making rounds on Social media to the effect that federal government has been expending two billion naira (N2bn) monthly to feed surrendered Boko Haram detainees, describing it as fake news.

The Special Assistant (Media and Publicity), to the president, Garba Shehu who denied this in a statement he released via his twitter handle @GarShehu, also urged the peopleto stay away from fraudsters and rumours.

The tweets read:

“message making the buzz in the social media that the “Federal Government has been giving N2.00Billion every month to Borno State in addition to N16.00Billion given earlier to feed surrendered Boko Haram detainees”should be dismissed for what it is: FAKE NEWS.

We urge you all to stay away from fraudsters and rumours. President Buhari did not say a word about money at the Shehu’s Palace or anywhere that he visited on his recent trip to Maiduguri.
