Abuja – President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday arrived the Esenboga International Airport, Ankara, for a State Visit to Turkey at the invitation of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
The president, who left Abuja after presiding over the meeting of the Federal Executive Council (FEC), was received by Nigeria’s Ambassador to Turkey, Iliyasu Paragalda.
Others at the airport to receive the president included the Governor of Ankara, Ercan Topaca; the Deputy Minister, Turkey’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ahmet Yildiz, and Mayor of Ankara Melih Gokcek.
While in Turkey, Buhari would participate in the ninth D-8 Summit in Istanbul, Turkey, on Oct. 20.
The D8-member countries include Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Pakistan and Turkey.
