Birnin Kebbi – A Presidential delegation led by the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Alhaji Abubakar Malami, on Saturday condoled with the Government and people of Kebbi State over the death of a staunch supporter of APC, Hajiya Fati Koko.
Malami said President Muhammadu Buhari was unable to personally visit the state and condole with the people and government over Koko’s death due to official engagements.
He said Buhari had high regards for the deceased because of her trust, belief and support to his honest quest to bring changes in leadership devoid of selfishness that would benefit the citizens.
He commended the state government for sponsoring the foreign treatment of the deceased until her death.
Minister of Defence, retired Gen. Mansir Dan Ali said the deceased had won the confidence of the President in her personal commitment to his success during the elections.
He stressed that the Federal Government’s delegation was a sign of high esteem by the President.
Gov. Atiku Bagudu said the delegation was significant considering the fact that Buhari had high regard to proponents of change, good governance and fight against corruption.
Koko died early February at the age of 95. As a strong supporter, she donated her life savings for the realisation of Buhari’s presidential ambition.
Other members of the delegation included the Minister of Defence, retired Gen. Mansir Dan Ali and the Minister of Water Resources, Alhaji Suleiman Adamu. (NAN)
