ONITSHA (ANAMBRA) – The Campaign for Democracy (CD), a pressure group, on Thursday urged the president-elect, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, to set-up the machinery to recover stolen public funds.
The Chairman of organisation in Anambra, Mr Vincent Ezekwueme, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Onitsha, Anambra that the president-elect should also appoint men and women of integrity into his cabinet.
He also called on Buhari to consider total removal of fuel subsidy, saying that the common man was not feeling the impact of the subsidy.
“As an anti-corruption crusader, all corrupt politicians who may derail your good intention of righting the wrongs of the society must be kept at arm’s length,’’ he said.
He also urged the incoming administration to ensure the complete removal of fuel subsidy while
monies recovered from corrupt politicians should be used to build new refineries.
