Lagos – A Film Producer, Adonijah Owiriwa, on Friday urged movie producers to apply due professionalism in film productions to ensure good quality movies.
Owiriwa told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos that the only way Nollywood could match the standards of movie production in more advanced climes was to strive for excellence.
He stressed that the makeup in film production could either make or mar the film.
The film maker urged makeup artistes to improve on their calling in order to boost the quality content of movies.
According to him, a film makeup artist is one whose job is to put makeup on actors during production for the purpose of altering their looks and appearance to suit the production.
He explained that makeup in films production was different from the day to day beauty makeup because accuracy, skills and research were required.
Owinrinwa added that makeup played a vital role in determining the quality of film.
“Good makeup in film can tell the story. Makeup artist in any film needs preparations, if possible, do research concerning the script.

“Every artist needs to be mindful of the people on set and ensure that no character is left out in makeup to avoid confusing the targeted viewers.
“The makeup artist also needs to consider the role the character is playing in the movie and the weather condition during the shooting of the film, “ he said.
Owinrinwa, however, advised film producers and directors to always engage the services of professional makeup artists during production to enhance the quality of their works. (NAN)
