Jesutega Onokpasa, a well-known lawyer and political commentator, has passed away.
He was a member of the APC Presidential Campaign Council in 2023 and a staunch supporter of President Bola Tinubu. Onokpasa gained national attention for defending the administration on TV.
Notably, he had a heated exchange with journalist Rufai Oseni on Arise Television in October 2023. However, Onokpasa recently criticized President Tinubu, citing insecurity, economic hardship, and disregard for party supporters. In a May interview, he stated that “Tinubu has failed woefully in ruling Nigeria and may end up as a one-term president.”
The news of his death was confirmed by pro-APC individuals on social media, with one posting “Jesutega Onokpasa. Rest in Peace.” The circumstances surrounding his death have not been disclosed.
