Alhaji Mohammed Ayegun, a former Councillor for Education in ASA Local Government Area of Kwara, has commended Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq for approving the promotion arrears of 29,615 teachers in the state.
Ayegun made the commendation in llorin on Friday in a statement he made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
According to him, the approval of the promotion arrears of the affected teachers under the Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) between 2017 and 2020 would boost their morale.
“I write to commend his Excellency, Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, for approving the backlog of promotion of teachers under SUBEB from 2017 to 2020.
“No doubt, the gesture will serve as morale booster for the affected teachers to enable them be alive to their duties,” the ex-education councillor noted.
Ayegun however advised the promoted teachers to reciprocate the governor’s gesture by being punctual at their duty posts to justify fund committed to their promotion.
The Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Prof. Shehu Adaramaja, while speaking with NAN said some of the affected 29,615 teachers in Primary and Junior Secondary Schools got two promotions
He said the state governor had also approved the procurement of instructional materials for basic schools across the state, including Science kits and Seminars for teachers.
