Ilorin- The Public Private Partnership Bill, sponsored by the executive arm of Kwara Government, on Thursday passed the second reading at the state House of Assembly.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the bill, which was sent to the house for passage by Gov. Abdulfatah Ahmed, seeks to establish a bureau that to ensure infrastructure development in the state.
The motion for the second reading of the bill was moved by the Majority Leaser of the house, Alhaji AbdulGaniyu AbdulKareem, and seconded by Alhaji Audu Liman (APC-Edu).
The majority leader called for the passage of the bill since similar one had been passed by the House of Representatives.
He noted that the bill would protect government infrastructure from being mismanaged and bring employment opportunities following private participation.

He added that the passage of the bill would provide a synergy between government and the private sector on the development of all sectors of the state economy.
Other members who supported the bill were Alhaji Saadu Tanke (APC-llorin South); Dr Felicia Ojeleye (APC- lsin); Hajia Raliat Adifa (APC-Lanwa Ejidongari) and Alhaji Aliyu Mande (APC-Banni/Adena).
The Clerk of the house, Mr Oyetunde Oyeniyi, read the bill for the second time.
The Deputy Speaker, Prof. Gana Yissa who presided over the plenary, directed the House Committee on Commerce, lndustry and Women Affairs, to further work on the bill for progress.
