Kosubosu (Kwara), – The victims of rainstorm disaster in Tambera, Baruten Local Government Area of Kwara on Wednesday urged government to assist them with relief materials to cushion the effect of the rainstorm.
The victims made the appeal when they spoke with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Tambera.
NAN reports that rainstorm had on May 7 displaced over 300 residents of the community.
The storm, which lasted less than an hour, blew off the roofs of more than 30 buildings in the community.
Malam Salihu Usman, who spoke on behalf of other victims, urged the National and State Emergency Management Agency to come to the rescue of the displaced people.

Usman, the councilor for Kenu/Tambera ward at the Baruten Legislative Council, described the incidence as devastating and heartburning.
He appealed to other well-meaning individuals to come to the aid of the residents, he said, were predominantly farmers and petty traders.
The councilor noted that the victims had suffered a lot as a result of the disaster, which also affected the residence oflate, Alhaji Halidu Sabi, a former Permanent Secretary in the state. (NAN)
