LAGOS – The Redeemed Christian Church of God, the Calvary Area Headquarters, Lagos, is partnering Emzor Pharmaceutical Industries and Pharmatex Industries to organise a medical outreach for residents of Oshodi and its environs on Saturday.
The Pastor in Charge of The Calvary Area, Jeff Aganbi, said the medical outreach, aimed at providing free drugs, medical tests and free medical consultations to community members, was part of the church’s Corporate Social Responsibility programme organised to mark its 21st anniversary.
Aganbi said that giving back to the society through the CSR initiative was in fulfilment of one of the visions of the General Overseer, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adejare. “It is his heart’s desire that the church must go beyond the pulpit if we want to fulfil the mandate of our Lord Jesus Christ by impacting the lives of people and communities where we operate,” Aganbi said.
He said that the two pharmaceutical companies had donated drugs and volunteers to ensure the success of the medical outreach, noting that medical personnel would be on the ground to attend to people with various ailments like diabetes, malaria, and hypertension. The cleric said that over 4,000 people had benefitted from the initiative since its commencement in 2013. Aganbi said that the anniversary programme which started on Tuesday, July 24 with the theme, ‘Arise and Shine’, would be concluded on July 29 with a thanksgiving service.
