MAIDUGURI – Re-elected Gov. Kashim Shettima of Borno has been urged to continue with his people-oriented programmes.
Alhaji Abba Alkali, the Coordinator of the Grassroots Mobilizers for Buhari, Borno chapter, made the call in a statement made available to newsmen in Maiduguri.
In the congratulatory statement, Alkali attributed Shettima’s victory to his successful developmental programmes in spite of Boko Haram’s insurgency.
“The Borno Grassroots Mobilizers for Buhari wishes to congratulate Gov. Kashim Shettima on his re-election for a second term in office.
“The re-election is a sign of public confidence on Shettima who has worked hard to develop the state in spite of the Boko Haram insurgency’’, he said.
Alkali, therefore, appealed to the governor to remain focused in his quest to take the state to the greater height.
He also commended Borno electorate for casting their votes for All Progressives Congress’ candidates during the polls.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]
“We commend the Borno electorate including women and youths for coming out en masse to vote Gen. Muhammadu Buhari and all APC candidates at the Presidential and National Assembly Polls.
“We also thank them for voting all APC candidates in the Governorship and House of Assembly polls’’, Alkali said.
“We wish to thank Shettima for his moral and financial support for the successes of the grassroots mobilizers towards the victory of all APC candidates at the polls’’, Alkali said. (NAN)
