Re-run election in Aba smooth, peaceful

Aba (Abia) –  re-run governorship election in Abia has been conducted peacefully in most affected wards in Aba area, the News Agency Nigeria (NAN) reports.

A NAN correspondent visited some wards reports that voters came as early as 8 a.m.

officials, however, arrived at some of the polling units at 9.30 a.m, leading to delays in the accreditation .

Voting was, however, smooth and peaceful unlike a fortnight ago when voters were dispersed tear gas in some poling units due to violence.

At the Okigwe Road Primary School, Aba, there were no officials or as at 11.40 a.m.

Unlike two week ago when people turn en masse to cast votes, only a few people were at the polling units visited.

The elections were and the votes were being counted at various polling units in the area at 3 p.m. (NAN)
