…Says protecting the people against terrorists should be the top priority

Abuja (Sundiata Post) – The 8th Assembly federal lawmaker that represented Kaduna Central Senatorial District, Senator Shehu Sani has commended the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu and other Service Chiefs for their role in the release of the abducted students of the Federal University Dutsin Ma in katsina state.
According to Shehu Sani, its self evident that there is now a more proactive and serious response to hostage situations than it used to be in the past.
This is also as he has adviced that protecting the people against terrorists should be a top priority for the head of the security agencies and by extention the federal government.
The Comrade who is also a human rigtts advocate, gave the charge in a statement released on his X (formerly twitter) account @ShehuSani following the report of the release of the abducted University students in katsina.
The statement reads;
“After over two months in captivity, It’s a great relief to receive the news of the release of the abducted students of the Federal University Dutsin Ma in katsina state. Kudos to the NSA and other security chiefs who played a role in securing their freedom. Its self evident that there is now a more proactive and serious response to hostage situations than it used to be in the past. Despite this feat, protecting the people against terrorists should be the top priority.”
Sundiata Post recalls that five female students of the Federal University Dutsin-Ma, FUDMA, in Katsina State, were abducted by suspected terrorists on the 4th of October, 2023.
The victims were said to have been kidnapped in their residence, located behind Mariamoh Ajiri Memorial International School, along Tsaskiya Road.
An eyewitness said the students were abducted in the early hours at about 2:30 a.m.
“The terrorists invaded the students’ residential quarters which is located behind Mariamoh Ajiri International School.
