Moscow sees signs of violations of Russian laws in the removal of RT’s channels from YouTube, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Wednesday, slamming the move as censorship and media obstruction.
RT and Sputnik Editor-in-Chief Margarita Simonyan said on Tuesday that YouTube had deleted two German RT channels without the possibility of recovery.
“Of course, there are signs that Russian laws have been violated, violated very rudely, as this, of course, is associated with censorship, and with obstruction of the media information dissemination,’’ Peskov told reporters.
“If our supervisory authorities come to the conclusion that this is, indeed, a violation of our legislation, then, of course, we cannot, we should not exclude the possibility of taking measures to force this platform to comply with our laws,’’ he added.
