The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abass, has officially declared the Ovia North-East/Ovia South-West federal constituency seat vacant.
The seat became vacant following the departure of Dennis Idahosa, who is now the Deputy Governor of Edo State.
This development has triggered preparations by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct a by-election to fill the vacant position in the federal legislature.
