Abuja   – The House of Representatives on Wednesday resolved to consider the Environmental Health 0fficers Registration Act Amendment Bill, 2015.

This followed a motion by Rep. Gideon Gwani (Kaduna-PDP), unanimously accepted by the House through a voice vote.

Moving the motion, Gwani expressed concern that the Environmental Health Officers (Registration) Act (Amendment) Bill, 2015 was awaiting consideration in the Committee of the Whole in the last assembly.

“Pursuant to order XII, Rule 96 of the Standing Orders of the House, the legislative business of the House which remains undetermined at the end of the Assembly shall be resumed.

“It shall also be proceeded with in the next Assembly in the same manner as if the tenure of the Assembly had not come to an end.

“That is if the House resolves that such Bills upon being re-gazetted, be reconsidered in the Committee of the Whole without being commenced de-novo’’, he said.

The House, therefore, committed the Bill to the committee of the Whole for consideration. (NAN)
