Abuja – The House of Representatives Committee on Agricultural Production and Institutions on Monday, said it would collaborate with youths in North-East to promote agriculture in the region.
Chairman of the committee, Mohammed Monguno (APC-Borno), said this in Abuja when the North-East Youth Peace, Development and Empowerment Initiatives, a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), visited him.

He said the committee would work assiduously toward assisting Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the area.
Earlier, President of the association, Mr Kyari Abubakar, said that the visit was crucial in facilitating possible ways of collaborating with the committee to boost agriculture in the region, and assist IDPs.
“Our main concern is to restore hope and re-launch the North-East youths to sustainable life through various agricultural schemes,“ Abubakar said.
He decried the effect of the insurgency on agricultural activities in the region, pointing out that it had impacted negatively on the condition of living of people.
He said that there was need for the people to return to farming activities “now that insurgency has subsided to enable residents in the North-East to survive’’. (NAN)
