PORT HARCOURT (Sundiata Post) – With less than 24 hours to the National and State Assembly rerun elections in Rivers State, the state government has accused the State Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) Commander, Mr Akin Fakorede of compromising the security architecture of the state by arranging fake SARS uniforms for political thugs.

A statement issued by the Office of the Security Adviser to the Rivers State Governor on Friday, alleged that verified security reports indicate that Fakorede has arranged fake security personnel to be kitted with SARS uniforms.
The statement added that the fake security personnel would pretend to be SARS personnel only to unleash mayhem and violence on the mentioned Local Government Areas.
“All PDP members should be at alert to resist any attempt to hijack materials at polling stations, RAC centres. They should any form of intimidation, shooting the air and any attempt to arrest them,” the statement said.
The statement alleged that Mr Fakorede has arranged for several Hilux Vehicles to carry out the illegal operations.
The statement urged the people of Rivers State to remain vigilant and watch out for the fake SARS personnel.
