Restructuring: UK Ban On Diesel, Petrol Cars By 2040 Vindicates Me, Says Atiku

ABUJA (Sundiata Post) – Former Vice President,  Atiku Abubakar, has said the report that gasoline-powered cars would be extinct by 2040 has vindicated him.
A statement Signed by media adviser, Mazi Paul Ibe, quoted the former vice president as saying that recently he had predicted that by 2040 automobiles may not use gasoline

He had used this prediction to reinforce his argument that Nigeria must restructure its federation.

The statement said,  “Exactly a week ago (Wednesday July 19, 2017), at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, predicted that the automobile industry will be moving away from diesel and petrol powered cars in favour of electric and alternative energy powered cars. This, he stated, was one of the reasons why Nigeria must restructure now or risk being bypassed by the global economy

“Of course the Waziri Adamawa was criticised and painted as crying wolf by the usual suspects, yet only 8 days later his view has been further vindicated by the news from the United Kingdom which was reported in Thursday, July 27, 2017 THISDAY front page headline: ‘Doom for Nigeria, Britain Moves to Ban Petrol, Diesel Cars by 2040’ (http://www.thisdaylive.com/in dex.php/2017/07/27/doom-for-ni geria-britain-moves-to-ban-pet rol-diesel-cars-by-2040/).”

He said that again serves as a warning to Nigeria to heed the warnings of patriots like Atiku Abubakar and others like him, that while the country still has a few good years of income from oil, there is the  need to urgently diversify the  economy which will only be possible if Nigerians  embrace restructuring.
